Canadian Tire is taking a different approach, the
event called Unwrap the Ultimate Auto Gifts. They’re in search of, invites
vendors, manufactures, distributors and entrepreneurs to submit their product
ideas online. Something along the lines of Dragons Dens, where people pitch out
their crazy ideas that potentially can bring in major profit.
The best are
chosen to show off their products in person, at their own expense, to Canadian
Tire buyers, senior managers, store owners and analysts at a two day meeting in
Toronto. Each presenter gets around 15 minutes. The previous year of 2011, 155
new products were launched, which generated a 2.7 increase in automotive sales.
The increased sales were above expectations, for which encouraged the retailer
to once again let people’s ideas be explored. Among the most interesting auto
gifts discovered last were The Road Mice. The mouse is a cordless mouse in the
shape of many exotic cars like the Lamborghini.
